When people are discussing interior design the majority tend to focus on the bigger things such as furniture and decor but it is important not to overlook the small things that can make the difference between success and failure of the project. This is amply illustrated in the case of curtains, many people (including professionals) focus on the actual curtains so much that they overlook the finer details involved such as the colour and design of the rails and poles.

Many retailers only sell the curtains and not the accessories that are essential to their installation so it is important to get the designer to assist in the selection of these fixtures. Of course when the right size is found there are still many things to take into consideration, these include but are certainly not limited to: Colour, material, and also the all important curtain tracks.

Although it is possible to get some of these accessories at extremely cheap prices, a person must consider the longevity of the product they are buying. It would surely be false economy to spend time and money on the perfect interior design only to spoil the whole effect with obviously cheap curtain poles and the like. The choice of supplier is also something that must be taken into consideration as although it is possible to purchase these things from the more generic suppliers they will more often than not be unable to provide in-depth information about the product.

This is not to say that is essential to buy overpriced products, simply check out a few reputable suppliers online and ascertain which one provides best value for money. Another aspect to be taken into consideration when sourcing a reputable supplier is their level of customer service. Can they answer your questions in a timely manner? Do they provide a money back guarantee? Have they got a proven track record? If the prospective supplier can answer all these questions in the affirmative they should go on your potential suppliers list.

To sum up, if a job is worth doing it’s worth doing well and interior design is no exception. By all means shop around before you part with any money but make sure your prospective supplier has the same eye for detail as yourself. From coat hangers to curtains there are a whole host of quality suppliers out there; all that is needed is a bit of research.
